Surrendering to Crazy Cavies

If you adopted from us just please email or call us to bring them back no questions asked per our contract with you when you adopted!

We do ask for any type of donation of things you have for them or any monetary donation but is not required

If you did NOT adopt from us and want to surrender your guinea pig to us the following guidelines apply to you!

We take in Guinea Pigs on a case by case basis if we have room to house them.

1. We suggest a minimum of $20 donation for every pig that is surrendered to us. This money goes towards a vet visit and care for them while in our rescue.

2. Donation of anything (cage, food, bedding, etc.) that you have for your Guinea Pig to our rescue to provide a familiar environment and ease the stress of moving.

3. Surrender form must be filled out prior to the surrendering of any Guinea Pigs.

We make this process as easy as possible and will never make you feel bad for surrendering your Guinea Pig(s). We understand this may be your only option and we will do our best to help you out!!

If we are unable to take your guinea pig in and house them there are other options available!

1. Friends, family or local vet offices and other dog/cat rescues will sometimes take them.

2. www.petfinder.com and www.craigslist.com allows you to post a classified for free on their website. This can be dangerous and you never know who really is taking your animals so be careful about posting them on these websites

3. Shelters will take them in. Not all shelters are created equal and most will euthanize them. Some shelters will put them up for adoption but some will not. The notion of "no-kill" at a shelter does not pertain to exotics such as guinea pigs!!
