Services Crazy Cavies Provides
Crazy Cavies is not just another rescue that helps Guinea Pigs. We also provide other services to help people that currently have Guinea Pigs or are looking for a Guinea Pig to Adopt. All donations from services go directly to the rescue operating fund to help cover the costs of running our Guinea Pig Rescue.
We provide the materials to make C&C cages (requirement for adoption) to our adopters and other people that are looking to upgrade from the awful petstore cages. We make it convenient for our adoptors to get everything in one spot. For our adopters there are two options before adopting a guinea pig.
1. You can find the coroplast at any sign shop and purchase it, usually for an outrageous price and not cut or ready to be used. If you go this route tell the sign shop that you are using it for a guinea pig cage and they may give you a discount. You can purchase the grids at Target, bed bath and beyond and some Costco stores too. Make sure the grids are at least 8 squares by 8 squares. Any bigger and a guinea pig can fit his/her head through the grids and get hurt or killed. The minimum size needed to adopt is a 2x4 in cubes and 30"x57" custom made without the cubes, or equivalent if you want more of a square. Make sure you ask us if your cage meets the required square footage before you buy the materials and build it. If you build the cage before adoption we will need a picture of it and date and time stamp on it. You can also find other ideas of things to use to build the cage at www.cavycages.com.
2. You can purchase cubes and coroplast from us and build your own or have us build it for you. We also sell extra grids and/or more coroplast. Prices vary according to size and are posted below. Also we have models of the C&C cages for you to take a look at, you just have to make an appointment to come over and see them or we can send you pictures of our cages too.
- 2x4 C&C cage: measures 30”x57” Price= $50 -Includes white coroplast (cut and ready to use), 28 blue grids, 36 connectors, bag of 100 zip ties and help with setup if needed. Other colors are available upon request. Price for colored coroplast is slightly more.
- 2x5 C&C cage: measures 30”x72” Price= $55 -Includes white coroplast (cut and ready to use), 33 blue grids, 42 connectors, bag of 100 zip ties and help with setup if needed. Other colors are available upon request. Price for colored coroplast is slightly more.
- 2x6 C&C cage: measures 30”x86” Price= $60 -Includes white coroplast (cut and ready to use), 38 blue grids, 48 connectors, bag of 100 zip ties and help with setup if needed. Other colors are available upon request. Price for colored coroplast is slightly more.
- Coroplast only: 4'x8' sheet is $20 or we can cut it down to whatever size you need.
- Grids only: $1 each, but does not include any connectors.
Remember all money donated to us for a cage goes into our operating fund and helps us care for and continue to rescue more guinea pigs
Nail Clipping
Crazy Cavies provides nail clipping for Guinea pigs. It only requires an appointment and a $5.00 donation. During the appointment, we will also teach you how to do it yourself and educate you more on the proper care of guinea pigs.
Petsitting
Petsitting is a service we are offering to help raise money for our rescue. We will watch your pets for you in our home or yours. Previous customers and/or people that have adopted from us have priority. This is based on available space and time and is on an individual basis. We will try to accommodate everyone that we can with the space and time that we have. The donation to our rescue is $5.00 per day for small animals, and $20.00 per day for dogs/cats. Contact us for more information on this subject as we have a contract that you need to look at and agree with and sign before services are rendered. At our place we only will petsit small animals, no dogs/cats. At your place we will petsit any type of animal. This program is new and has other stipualtions not contained here, so please contact us for futher instruction.
